2.5 More Miles.
A new way in for every rider.
We are raising $30,000 to build 2.5 miles of new mountain bike trail at Smith Park in Brentwood. The City of Brentwood approved the route. The community is paying for it. A professional trail builder and volunteers will build it.

The magenta line is the new route. The colored lines at lower left are the trails open today.
The new trail leaves the parking area by the hiking trailhead. It runs up the east side of the park, crosses the north end and drops into the back of the trail network.
A good portion already exists as an access trail used by park staff. That head start is why 2.5 miles costs $30,000.

Why it matters
Today the way in is Hardscuffle Haul, the climb from the soccer fields. That climb keeps a lot of newer riders, younger kids and families from ever reaching the trails.
A second way in
Start near the hiking trailhead. Reach the back of the trails without the climb.
Every skill level
A first timer and a racer can enjoy the same park.
Around 10 miles
Today's network is about 7 miles. The extension adds 2.5 more.
A home course
Brentwood's middle and high school mountain bike teams train here.
Light on the land
Much of the route is an existing park access trail. Less new ground gets disturbed.
Built by neighbors
A professional trail builder and volunteers will build it together.
